We are currently updating all WordPress customers to the latest version of WordPress, version 5.5.

Named “Eckstine”  in honor of late, great Billy Eckstine, the new version is a major update and includes some security as well as speed improvements. Several features added to the back end which previously required additional plugins, are now part of the core operating application.

Auto-updating has been added which will allow the update of both plugins and themes to take place automatically. This update will provide some security so that owners will know their site is using the latest security updates.

Every WordPress release adds improvements to the accessible publishing experience, and that remains true for WordPress 5.5.

Content creators can copy links in media screens and modal dialogs with a button, instead of trying to highlight a line of text.

Users can also move meta boxes with the keyboard, and edit images in WordPress with your assistive device, as it can read you the instructions in the image editor.

As usual, customers should contact jebswebs if they encounter any problems accessing content on their website.

And here is come nice cool jazz from Billy…
